What the portal is for

Deciding on joint replacement is rarely easy. People look for answers in the evening, on a phone, between doctor’s appointments. Clinical guidelines are written for specialists, clinic websites sell, and forums frighten.

OsteoplusX puts the whole patient journey in one place, from the first symptoms of osteoarthritis to life with an implant. Every figure has a source and the date it was checked.

Our aim is for you to see your doctor with a clear plan and precise questions.

What we do

• We explain when surgery is needed and when it can wait.
• We use diagrams to show treatment stages, implant types, surgical approaches and recovery times.
• We cover risks and open questions as fully as benefits, such as what is proven about robotic surgery.
• We help you understand compulsory health insurance (OMS) and VMP quotas for high-tech care.
• We explain to international patients how to arrange treatment in Russia.

What we do not do

OsteoplusX is an information project. We are not a medical organisation and we do not provide medical care.

• The navigator is not a doctor: diagnosis and treatment stay with your own doctor.

• We do not rank clinics or surgeons.

If something here seems to contradict your doctor, talk it through with your doctor. They know your situation; we do not.

Who makes the portal

Treatment navigator

The navigator helps you find your way through treatment. That means explaining the route, preparing questions for the surgeon, comparing clinic terms and gathering documents for a VMP quota. The navigator also writes the portal’s texts and answers enquiries.

Medical reviewer

The reviewer checks clinical pages against current guidelines and research. A reviewed page shows the reviewer’s name and the review date. The review process is described in our editorial policy.

How we are funded

The portal is funded by the navigator’s paid services. They include an introductory call about your route, help with questions for your doctor and support in choosing a clinic. International patients can also get help with travel.

What you are buying:

• An information service. The navigator does not assess scans or recommend a specific operation.
• Help with no hidden commissions. Clinics do not pay us for patients. If we ever sign a partnership agreement with a clinic, we will say so on the services page.
• A service that does not include treatment. You pay the clinic for surgery directly, or receive it under OMS or a VMP quota. Prices and terms are in the service agreement.

The information pages, the dictionary and the diagrams are free. Paid services have no influence on what the articles say.

How we check facts

We do not ask you to take our word for it:

• Every clinical page ends with its sources: Russian guidelines, AAOS and NHS materials, meta-analyses and joint replacement registries.
• Risks and limitations are as visible as benefits.
• Each page shows when it was last updated and reviewed. We revise clinical pages at least every 12 months.
• We prepare texts and diagrams with AI tools. The author is responsible for the result and checks medical statements against primary sources.
• Found a mistake? Write to us, and we will fix it and note the date of the correction.
