Cookie policy

Which cookies and localStorage records the OsteoplusX website uses, what they are for, when analytics is switched on and how to change your choice.

Version of

This page lists everything the website saves in your browser. The list is short: the site has no advertising trackers and no third-party widgets.

Cookies and localStorage

Cookies are small text records that a website saves in your browser. They let the website recognise you on your next visit.

localStorage is similar storage inside the browser. Its records are not sent to the server automatically and stay on your device. The website keeps its own settings in localStorage.

Under Russian law, records that can identify a user count as personal data[1]1Федеральный закон № 152-ФЗ «О персональных данных» — КонсультантПлюс, 2006To the list of sources →. That is why we divide records into necessary and analytics records, and ask for consent to analytics.

Records the website uses

Key Type Purpose Lifetime Consent
op-a11y, op-motion and other op-* keys localStorage, necessary Reading settings and your choices; see Local settings in your browser Until you delete them Not required
op-consent-analytics localStorage, necessary Stores your answer to the cookie banner: yes or no Until you delete it Not required
Yandex Metrica cookies (for example, _ym_uid, _ym_d) cookie, analytics Count visits and pages viewed Set by Yandex Only after Allow analytics

The op-consent-analytics record stops the banner from appearing on every visit. This is also a necessary function[1]1Федеральный закон № 152-ФЗ «О персональных данных» — КонсультантПлюс, 2006To the list of sources →.

There are no login cookies, because the website has no accounts.

Local settings in your browser

The website remembers your settings and choices in localStorage. These are not cookies: the records stay on your device and are never sent to the server.

Key What it stores
op-a11y Text size: 100, 118 or 135 %
op-motion Whether animation is on or off
op-situation The situation you chose on the home page
op-joint The joint: knee or hip
op-stage The stage: pain, surgery offered, preparing, or life after surgery
op-pay How you plan to pay: OMS, private, or not decided yet
op-role Who is reading: a patient or a relative
op-route, op-route-done Your answers in My route and the steps you marked as done
op-memo Your appointment memo: the questions you ticked and your own questions
op-planner-date Your surgery date in the recovery planner
op-country The country you chose on the page for international patients

The Forget my choices button in the website footer deletes all of these records. It also deletes your answer to the cookie banner.

In the address of the route and memo pages, the part after the # sign holds only answer codes. It is never sent to the server.

Analytics

The website uses Yandex Metrica for analytics. It shows which pages people read, where they leave and what could be improved. Metrica receives anonymised data, so we do not see visitors’ names or contact details.

The Metrica script does not load until you click Allow analytics in the banner. On your first visit, the banner offers two options: Allow analytics and Necessary only. The decline button is visible straight away, with no extra clicks. The law requires this: consent must be specific, informed, conscious and unambiguous[1]1Федеральный закон № 152-ФЗ «О персональных данных» — КонсультантПлюс, 2006To the list of sources →.

If you click Necessary only, the website remembers your choice and does not ask again. Every feature of the website works whatever you choose.

Metrica data is processed by Yandex LLC under its own terms. According to Yandex, the data is stored on servers in Russia. We do not send form contents to Metrica.

Changing your choice

You can change your decision at any time: this is your right under the law[1]1Федеральный закон № 152-ФЗ «О персональных данных» — КонсультантПлюс, 2006To the list of sources →.

  1. Scroll to the footer of any page.
  2. Click Cookie settings.
  3. Choose Allow analytics or Necessary only.

If you withdraw consent, the Metrica script stops loading from the next page load. You can delete Yandex cookies that were already set in your browser settings.

Cookies in your browser settings

You can delete or block cookies and localStorage yourself. Where to find the settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
  • Yandex Browser: Settings → Websites → Advanced site settings → Cookies.
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.

If you delete all site data, your settings are reset too: text size, animation, choices and your banner answer. The banner will appear again on your next visit, and you can choose again.

Blocking all cookies does not stop you from reading the website. Forms still work, because they do not depend on cookies.

What we do not use

The website does not use:

  • advertising pixels or retargeting, where ads follow you to other websites;
  • Google Analytics or other foreign analytics systems;
  • third-party chat widgets that set their own cookies;
  • browser fingerprinting, a hidden way to identify a user without cookies.

If we add any of these, we will update this page and ask for consent before the new script loads[1]1Федеральный закон № 152-ФЗ «О персональных данных» — КонсультантПлюс, 2006To the list of sources →.

Changes to this policy

A new version is published on this page with its date. If the list of analytics services changes, earlier consent stops being valid and the banner appears again.

Send questions about cookies and data to info@osteoplusx.ru. More about data processing is in our privacy policy.
